Lately I find myself bored about everything I put on our plates. Also, I tend to simplify our menu, just to make sure all the kids will eat and to make sure they eat their veggies (for example, I sometimes mix the spaghetti sauce, so all the vegetables magically disappear). At the same time I’m so annoyed that I’m making this effort because I also believe that our kids should eat whatever they get served. I remember that when I was their age, I ate everything and I never complained about what was for diner. I just have always loved food and this was of course super easy for our parents. At the age of 13, my sis and I decided to live a vegetarian lifestyle but besides meat, we literally ate and eat everything. Now I’m a bit stuck in a rut. Especially Lilou and Remi nag about their veggies. Delhaize wants to give kids more vitamins too: with their Vitaminis promotion they want to inform kiddos and their parents about healthy food and they want us parents to get the kids more involved in choosing the menu and also in prepping diner. This would help them eat better too. I must admit that I’m guilty for not involving them too much, because I always think it would be too time consuming. But if this could spare me time whining less about emptying their plates, this could be a zero sum game right?! So I will definately give this a try. What we also do to make our diner more interesting, is to order our Hello Fresh box for the week and it is just sooo refreshing! I love cooking things I didn’t know before, exploring new herbs and tastes, it just makes our diner much more interesting every time. The other day we got ourselves some healthy snacks from Delhaize and I thought it would be nice to photograph each kiddo with their fave piece. They sure had fun! Oh and did you know Stokke has this new option to engrave the name of the kid on the back of the Tripp Trapp. It is just ah-mazing!! Before, the kids fought quite a bit for their chairs, but now there cannot be any discussion because their name is on the back. They LOVE it! Ok, don’t forget to share your tips about how you get your kids to eat healthy! We’re super curious!
